On Tuesday, 19 March 2024, the National Maritime Foundation (NMF) was visited by a delegation from the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF). The delegation was headed by Vice Admiral Hiroshi Egawa — President, Command and Staff College. Vice Admiral Pradeep Chauhan — Director-General, NMF, along with select members of the NMF faculty, graciously welcomed the delegation, following which Admiral Chauhan proceeded to brief the gathering on “Securing India’s Maritime Interests”. Admiral Chauhan also highlighted ways and means through which India and Japan could collaborate and further enhance bilateral ties. Admiral Egawa affirmed the proximity between the two countries, emphasising the efforts of both Indian PM Modi and late Japanese PM Abe to bring the “like-minded” nations together.
