Gurugram Drone Delivery: Know possible Pros and Cons

Gurugram has become one of the first cities in India to embrace drone delivery.

Drone delivery has a lot of potential as it beats traffic and provides quicker service.

Drone delivery is a very new concept it is seeing some failures too.

Remember how when we were kids we used to envision a sci-fi future with flying cars, drones, and robots? Turns out we are now living in the future. Technological advances that we had imagined back then are coming to life now, even in India. Speaking of drones, we have heard of drones delivering food and other things. Well guess what! The drone delivery is now happening in India too, that too in Haryana’s Gurugram.

Gurugram has become one of the first cities in India to embrace drone delivery. Skye Air Mobility is behind bringing this system to Gurugram. Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of this system as it is in its very initial stages right now.

Pros of drone delivery

First and foremost the arrival of the drone delivery system in an Indian city in itself is a step towards enforcement of innovative technologies and embracing the future. It sets a precedent for other cities too. Next, drone delivery has a lot of potential as it beats traffic and in turn, becomes a really efficient and convenient alternative. Plus it is also a more environmentally friendly alternative.

Mr. Raman Sharma, a resident of Gurugram, says, ” The adoption of drone deliveries can be a game-changer in terms of convenience and time-saving. It will completely revolutionize the way we receive our packages, making the process seamless and efficient.”

Let’s now look at the flip side of the same.

Cons of drone delivery

Well since drone delivery is a very new concept it is seeing some failures too. Recently, an incident was reported of how a drone on its way to deliver frozen chicken to a colony in Gurugram was obstructed by a TV antenna which led to its crash landing. Residents of the society claim that the drone left a crater where it crash landed. This poses a big security and safety threat as it could have caused an accident had someone been around. A lot more work and planning is needed in that regard. Additionally, if drone delivery becomes popular, it could pose a job threat to the many delivery partners.
