Exactly 10 years ago, on the 8th of March 2014, the Beijing-Capital International Airport bound Malaysia Airlines flight MH 370 disappeared off the radar screens of Malay Air Traffic Controllers, around an hour after takeoff from the airline’s Kuala Lumpur hub. Malaysian Military radars also lost track of the flight around 2 hours after departure. The flight was, by then, off course and hurtling across the Andaman Sea. The aircraft involved was 9M-MRO, an approximately 11.8 years old Boeing 777-200ER. Authored by Anish A. Kale for The Geostrata.
